The 31-year-old pacer had suffered a back injury during the fifth and final Test in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy which India lost 3-1. Bumrah has not played any cricket ꦅsince then but is a part of India's squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy. However, with the extent of injury still unknown, question marks remain over the pacer's place in the side.

🎶As per the report, the scans and assessment were done at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru and Bumrah will stay there till the final update comes out. The pacer will then have a discussion with the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) medical team to decide the future ahead.

🦋February 12 is the deadline before which teams have to submit their final squads for the Champions Trophy.

ꦚDr Rowan Schouten from New Zealand, who had operated on Bumrah after his previous back injury, has also been kept in loop. As per the report, his inputs could be sought once the report is ready. The final decision will be then communicated to the BCCI.

ꩵSending Bumrah to New Zealand if needed has also been reportedly discussed.

Bumrah was named for the third ODI against England but his name was removed with Varun Chakravarthy entering the side. For the first two ODIs of the series, Harshit Rana was named in the squad.

As per a previous Times of India report, Mohammed Siraj ♏could be back in contention in case Bumrah fails to make it to the Champions Trophy. Har
