Oscar-award winning filmmaker Martin Scorsese and actor Leonardo DiCaprio🧸 have joined hands to produce a crime thriller set in Hawaii, based on an original idea from Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt, reported Deadline. The film will star Dwayne, who will share screen space with Leonardo and Emily.

The thumbnail description of the film reads: Imagine Robert De Niro’s Jimmy the Gent character from Goodfellasꦍ, but as a ruthless Hawaiian crime boss, based on a real figure, who battled encroaching rivals for control of organized crime in Hawaii.

ܫThe untitled film will be written by Nick Bilton. Set in the 1960s and 70s Hawaii, the film will be about the difficult time on the island paradise when a group of mobsters battled against mainland corporations and rival syndicates to preserve the Hawaiian islands.

ꩵAs per the same portal, ''It’s based on the untold true story of a man who fought to preserve his homeland through a ruthless quest for absolute power — igniting the last great American mob saga, where the war for cultural survival takes place in the unlikeliest of places: paradise.''

♐Johnson, Blunt, DiCaprio, and Scorsese will produce the film along with Bilton, Dany Garcia, Lisa Frechette and Rick Yorn.

Meanwhile, Johnson and Blunt will be seen in A24's upcoming biographical drama, The Smashing Machine♓, directed by Benny Safdie. The WWE star is playing real-life former wrestler Mark Kerr in the film.
