꧅Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, vehemently criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for dodging questions on the Gautam Adani indictment issue in the US. Gandhi said that the PM was "shielding" his "friend" by calling it a "personal matter."

ꦆThe Congress leader wrote on the microblogging website X, "Silence on the question at home, 'personal matter' abroad. Even in the US, Modi Ji is shielding Adani Ji from corruption allegations.

📖For Modi Ji, filling a friend's pockets is 'nation-building,' while bribery and the looting of national assets conveniently become a personal matter," he added.

ꦉTo a question on whether the issue relating to Adani figured in the talks, PM Modi at a joint media briefing in Washington said, "India is a democracy, and our culture is 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.'. We consider the whole world as one family. I believe every Indian is mine."

🎃Modi said such individual matters are not discussed in talks between two leaders.

🍌"Two prominent leaders of two countries never discuss such individual issues," he said.

The opposition has since stepped up its attack on the BJP government, and the issue was raised in the winter session of Parliament 🦂last year, with multiple protests and walkouts by the India bloc.
