The mobile intern🔜et has been snapped while large gatherings have been banned in northeast’s Manipur district after a ‘Solidarity March’ called by a students body.
According to the reporꦺt in NDTV mobile internet h𒈔as been stopped in Manipur’s Bishnupur while gatherings have been banned as thousands of tribals turned up at a
'Solidarity March' called by a students body 𓄧in all the ten hill districts of the stat🍒e.
The march, report said was called to opp𝔉ose moves for inclusion of the majoritꩲy Meitei community in the ST category.
There were also reports of violence, it said.
&q🐲uot;Assembly of five or more persons, which is likely to turn unlawful, and carrying of sticks, stones, firearms without a valid license, weapons or objects of any de🍬scription which can be used as offensive weapons, prohibited in the whole jurisdiction of Bishnupur district with immediate effect," the report government the official order.
“The Meiteis who make up 53 per cent of the state's poipulation inhabit the Manipur valley, which accounts for about a tenth of the former pricely state's land area, and claim that they are facing difficulty in view of large scale illegal immigration by Myanmarese and Bangladeshis,” it mentioned.
