The details of a bone-chilling mass murder surfaced on Monday in Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram as a 23-year-old man, Affan, walked into a police station and confessed to having killed six people, including his mother, teenage brother, and girlfriend. According to a report by India Today, police have so far confirmed five deaths.
According to The Indian Express༺, the deceased have been identified as Afan’s 13-year-old younger brother Afsan, his uncle Latheef, his aunt Shahida, his grandmother Salma Beevi and Farsana.
🅘The murders reportedly took place at three different locations over a few hours on Monday evening. The locations include- Venjaramoodu, S N Puram, and Pangode. All the victims were brutally attacked with hammer and sharp tools.
🍌As per reports, Affan also attacked his mother Shemi who currently is in a critical condition and has been admitted to the ICU at the Medical College Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.
♛Police are yet to determine the motive behind the killings and have launched a detailed investigation into the mass murder.
Quoting police, The Indian Express🔯 reported that Affan arrived at the Venjaramoodu station on Monday evening and confessed to killing six people. Besides claiming to have committed the crimes, the accused also informed the police that he had consumed poison following which he was taken to the Medical College Hospital for treatment.
🌳Suspecting he might be under the influence of intoxicants, police also interrogated the auto driver who brought him. However, a search of his house confirmed his confession.
In view of the development, the locals said that Afan was last seen around 4:30 pm on Monday, riding a bike in Peramala. Investigations are ongoing, with forensic teams gathering evidence from the crime 💫scenes. Authorities are also working to determine how Farsana was connected to the family.
