🍒Opposition MPs lambasted the government on Thursday, condemning the alleged mistreatment of 104 Indian deportees from the US, who were reportedly shackled during their flight to home.

🍌The MPs were outraged by reports that the deportees, who arrived in Amritsar on a US military aircraft, were subjected to degrading conditions, including being shackled at their arms and legs during the flight.

𒁏Opposition leaders, including Congress's Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, along with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, staged a protest outside the Parliament building's main gate. They held placards that boldly read "Humans, not prisoners" and wore handcuffs on their hands, emphasising their solidarity with the deported Indians.

𓆉The opposition, particularly the allies if the 'INDIA' bloc, criticised Narendra Modi, saying that the PM, who claims to be a friend of Donald Trump, failed to prevent the inhumane actions of the US government. After the

How Opposition Reacts

꧃Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal slammed the central government, calling its response to the deportation of Indian nationals from the United States "shocking" and indicative of "complete helplessness."

Congress leader Venugopal said, "I heard the statement of EAM Jaishankar. It sounded like a statement from the US state secretary. This is completely unfortunate. We understand that there have to be legal proceedings regarding the illegal immigrants and there has to be deportation, but the manner in which it was done was very sad," as quoted by ANI.

Congress MP Rajeev Shukla also reacted to Jaishankar's statement in RS on the deportation of illegal Indian migrants by the US and said, "EAM gave his statement, but he was not able to clarify some things, like why they were handcuffed and brought in very bad condition. Why do the government agencies not arrest the agents who loot them? The government should take steps to rehabilitate them, reported ANI.

Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav ♏and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati also strongly reacted to the deportation. Yadav took to social media, accusing the Modi government of remaining silent in the face of the dehumanising treatment of Indians sent back from the US. He demanded to know why the government had failed to protect the deportees, especially women and children.

♎Samajwadi party chief Akhilesh Yadav said, "Those who were showing the dream of making India Vishwaguru, why are they silent now? Indian citizens are deported to India by being handcuffed like slaves and in inhumane conditions. What is the external affairs ministry doing? What did the govt do to protect children and women from this disrespect? We want the govt to reply to this and allow the opposition to discuss the issue in parliament...," as per the reports.
