Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey is one of the most awaited movies. Actor Matt Damonꦿ's first-look poster from the upcoming film, has been unveiled recently. It shows Damon as the titular character Odysseus, donning a warrior costume.

ꦦThe makers shared the first-look poster of Matt Damon on X handle and confirmed that the film will be releasing in theatres on July 17, 2026.

🅘"Matt Damon is Odysseus. A film by Christopher Nolan, #TheOdysseyMovie is in theaters July 17, 2026 (sic),'' read the caption of the post.

The Odyssey♒ is an adaptation of Homer's poem and will show Odysseus' 10-year journey home after the Trojan War.

ಞThe epic drama also features Robert Pattinson, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Lupito Nyong'o, Charlize Theron, Benny Safdie, and Jon Bernthal in pivotal roles.

Christopher Nolan not only directed The Odyssey ꩵbut also wrote it and produced it alongside his wife, Emma Thomas, under their Syncopy production banner.

Universal, who will distribute the film, has described The Odyssey🍌 as a "mythic action epic". It has been shot globally using new IMAX film technology.

🥃Regarding the film, The Hollywood Reporter wrote, "Homer's poem tells of the Greek hero King Odysseus and his tortuous, 10-year journey home to Ithaca after the Trojan War. The journey is filled with interruptions and influence from the gods (not to mention a few Cyclopes). The story also involves Odysseus's wife and grown son, who must contend with aggressive suitors who have designs on the throne."
