👍City clinched a £12.5million move for the midfielder in January 2024, but he was loaned back to the Argentinian club to get regular minutes.
😼Echeverri has starred for Argentina at the South American Under-20s Championship in recent weeks, with the Albiceleste finishing as runners-up to Brazil.
𒈔After scoring six goals in nine appearances at that tournament, he has now joined up with Pep Guardiola's City squad for the first time.
ܫThe 19-year-old is eligible to appear for City in the Premier League and FA Cup, and he arrives with plenty of first-team experience after making 48 appearances for River Plate.
🔯Speaking to City's media channels, Echeverri revealed he had spoken to fellow Argentine Sergio Aguero before agreeing his move to the Etihad Stadium.
꧟"I've spoken to Aguero, I knew about it [the relationship between Argentina and Manchester City]. Aguero, in particular, stands out," Echeverri said.
🎃"He's a legend here at Manchester City because of everything he achieved and the incredible player he was."
𒀰Echeverri added that Guardiola's style of play was a key factor in his decision to choose City, saying: "Football has been my life, and my dream was to play for one of the best teams in Europe.
𒅌"Today I am closer to that dream. Manchester City are one of the best teams in the world. Not only do they win trophies, they play the game so beautifully.
🍰"They are an example to everyone – they show people how to play football the best way."
