Actor Michelle Trachtenberg, best known for her roles in Gossip Girl, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, passed away. She was 39.
As per a report in AP, polﷺice responded to a 911 call after 8 am at a 51-story luxury apartment tower in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood, where the cops found Trachtenberg "unconscious and unresponsive,” as per NYPD statement.
She was declared dead by the paramedics at the scene. Police🌸 confirmed no foul play was suspected and the New York Medical Examiner is investigating the cause of Michelle Trachtenberg's death.
Trachtenberg’s represent꧟ative, Gary Mantoosh, ꦺin a statement, on Wednesday said, “The family requests privacy for their loss''.
Trachtenberg began her career as a child artistes when she was just 8. She played Nona Mecklenberg on Nickelodeon’s The Adventures of Pete & Pete from 1994 to 1996 and played the titular character in the 1996 film Harriet The Spy, where she starred alongside Rosie O'Donnell. She was also in the title role in Inspector Gadget, opposite Matthew Broderick.
In 2000, Michelle appeared in Buffy, where she played Dawn Summers, the younger sister🦋 of the t🗹itle character played by Sarah Michelle Gellar between 2000 and 2003.
In 2001, she received a Daytime Emmy nomination for hosting Discovery’s Truth or Scare. She also starred in Six Feet Under, Weeds, and Gossip Girl. In Gossip Girl, she played the ga๊ng’𒈔s nemesis, Georgina Sparks.
She also made guest appꦡearances in the 2021 Gos🍬sip Girl revival.
Michelle Trachtenberg's Gossip Girl co-star Blake Lively mourned her death on Instagram. She wrote, “The world lost a deeply sensitive and good person in Miꦓchelle. May h⛄er work and her huge heart be remembered by those who were lucky enough to experience her fire.''
Her Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-star Dav🌄id Boreanaz wrot♏e on Instagram it was “so very sad.. horrible news.”
Rosie O’Donnell called her demise “heartbreakiꦫng'' and added, “I loved her very much. She struggled the last few years. I wish I could have helped.”
Glee star Chris C𝕴olfer wrote, “Michelle was the absolute sw🌺eetest and one of the most supportive people I knew''.
Michelle's A Holiday for Love co-star wrote, “My heart aches for your family and all thos♔e who ༒loved you so.”
