Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava, that released on February 14, is showing no signs of slowing down at the box office. The period drama will cross the Rs 200 crore mark today. After seeing a drop in its collections on Day 4 and 5, Chhaava witnessed a rise in earnings on Day 6. It amassed Rs 32 crore collection on Wednesday, coinciding with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti holiday, as per a report in Sacnilk. Chhaava🐻's total box office collection in six days stands at Rs 197.75 crore (nett).
It had an overall 41.41% Hindi occupancy on Wednesday, with maximum occupancy in the night shows of 51.30%, followed by evening shows that had an occupancy of 41.73%, afternoon shows with 38.55% occupancy and
morning shows with 34.04% occupancy.
Chhaava is based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Vicky Kaushal portrayed the titular character for which he received raved reviews. The film is adapted from Shivaji Sawant’s Marathi novel Chhava.
🅠Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film also starred Rashmika Mandanna who played Maharani Yesubai, Akshaye Khanna was seen as Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, Ashutosh Rana played Sarsenapati Hambirao Mohite, Divya Dutta was seen as Soyarabai, and Diana Penty portrayed Aurangzeb's daughter, Zinat-un-Nissa Begum.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde attended the special screening of Chhaava on Wednesday. While speaking to the media, he was all praise for the film. He said, "Today is the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj... I want to thank the film's team and Vicky Kaushal ❀for bringing the story of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to everyone''.
Meanwhile, the Goa government on Thursday, announced that Chhaava will be tax-free in the state.
