Ranji Trophy Semi-Finals Day 4 Highlights: Vidarbha Set 406-Run Target For Mumbai; Gujarat Trail By 28 Runs Against Kerala

ꦰVidarbha were 147/4 at stumps against Mumbai in their Ranji Trophy semi-final match. Their lead has crossed past 250. In Kerala vs Gujarat, the latter were 222/1 at stumps on day 3.

Action for Day 4 of the Ranji Trophy 🐽2024-25 started with Gujarat batters resuming their batting from 222/1 and Vidarbha batters Akshay Wadkar and Yash Rathod resuming from where they left on Day 3. Vidarbha have taken a hefty lead and are eyeing for at least 200 more runs from here.

🍰Kerala have failed again to strike early in the first session of the day. Priyank Panchal and Manan Hingrajia continued their work in the opening session on Day 4. Panchal targeted MD Nidheesh and hit three boundaries in his over. The duo have eyes on taking a big lead in the first session.

ꩵJalaj Saxena dismissed Priyank Panchal and Manan Hingrajia to brought back Kerala back into the game. Panchal missed his 150 by juts two runs and Hingrajia could only make 33 runs. Urvil Patel and Hemang Patel are new batters at the crease. Gujarat still trail by 166 runs.

⛎Yash Rathod completed his century and played a vital inning for Vidarbha. Captain Akshay Wadkar also completed his half-century in 199 deliveries. The duo took Vidarbha's lead past 326 runs. Mumbai desperately need a wicket to keep themselves into the game.

🃏Mumbai got their first breakthrough of the day when Vidarbha captain Akshay Wadkar lost his wicket to Shams Mulani at the score of 52 runs. He was bowled by Mulani. Harsh Dubey also could not stay for long before Tanush Kotian dismissed him. Darshan Nalkande is the newest batter at the crease.

𝄹Gujarat has lost two more wickets and they are still trailing by 132 runs in the match. Urvil Patel and Hemang Patel lost their wickets just before the lunch break and now half of Gujarat team is back into the pavilion. Mumbai, on the other hand, also managed to take a couple of wickets before the lunch. But centurion Yash Rathod is unbeaten with Darshan Nalkande.

꧑Jalaj Saxena struck right after the lunch break and got rid of Gujarat captain Chintan Gaja. Vishal Jayswal replaced him at the crease. Jaymeet Patel need to bat for long if Gujarat look to take a lead in the match.

♛Yash Rathod and Parth Rekhade have rebuilt the Vidarbha inning after Sams Mulani dismissed Darshan Nalkande for just four runs. Vidarbha are seven wickets down but have taken a big lead of 375 runs. Mumbai need to take those three wickets as early as possible and start the chase. If the match ends in draw, Mumbai will lose the match based on the first inning score.

Yash Rathod completed is 150 against Mumbai in the second innings and also took Vidarbha's lead past 400 runs. Yash Thakur ꧑is batting alongside him for the last wicket and Vidarbha are hopeful of adding at least 30 runs from here.

🍌Vidarbha set a 406-run target for Mumbai in the semi-final match in Nagpur. Yash Rathod was the last man dismissed for 151 as Vidarbha took their lead to 405 runs. Now, the star-studded Mumbai team need to make 406 runs to win this match. If they manage to draw the match, they will lose after the counting of first inning runs.

𒉰Gujarat have three wickets in hand and they are still trailing by 64 runs. Kerala bowlers will try their best to take those three wickets before Gujarat add more 64 runs in their scorecard. ꧂Mumbai are 83/3 after 31 overs still need 323 runs to win the match with Shivam Dube and Akash Anand batting at the crease. Vidarbha need seven more wicket to win the match and book a place in the final. Kerala, on the other hand, need to take the remaining three Gujarat wickets inside 28 runs to take a lead in the first inning and have an advantage in the game.
