Superstar Rajinikanth is all set to enthrall Japanese audiences with his film Jailer. ꧑The Nelson Dilipkumar film was released in 2023 and was a blockbuster at the box office. It was one of the highest-grossing films of the year.
Rajinikanth’s official Japanese fan page shared on X about Jailer🦂's release in Japan. Jailer will be released in multiple theatres across the country on February 21. The page also wrote that advance bookings will open from tomorrow.
Rajinikanth has a huge fanbase in Japan. Jailer is not his first movie to be released in the country. Earlier, the actor’s 1995 film Muthu🐷, released in Japan in 1998. It was reportedly released on 50 screens across the country at the time.
Jailerꦛ is a Tamil language film, that reportedly grossed over Rs 650 crore worldwide. Apart from Rajinikanth, the action drama also stars Mohanlal, Vinayakan, Shiva Rajkumar, Yogi Babu, Ramya Krishnan and Vasanth Ravi, among others in significant roles.
꧒It has been written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Kalanithi N. Maran under the Sun Pictures banner.
On the work front, Rajinikanth has Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie in his kitty. The film also stars Nagarjuna, Upendra, and Soubin Shahir, among others. After Coolie, he has the sequel to Jailer.
