The upcoming Super Bowl LIX contest between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans is garnering eyeballs from all over the world. The growing interest is manifesting itself in several ways, including legal wagers. (More Sports News)

෴For instance, a large number of Ontarians and Michiganders are projected to place bets on the game. A survey conducted by Leger for the Responsible Gambling Council suggests 63 percent of Ontario residents plan to watch the Super Bowl game, while 48 per cent of respondents said are looking to place a wager on the match.

🐲The survey further shows that 50 per cent of Ontarians will bet online with a sportsbook, 30 per cent with family and friends, 27 per cent on sport-based lottery tickets, and 20 per cent in a pool.

Similarly, even though the Detroit Lions have not made the cut, that is unlikely to stop Michiganders from getting their skin in the game. Michigan residents are projected to wager around 47 million US dollars collectively on the Super Bowl, as per an estimate from the American Gaming Association (AGA). That’s part of a 1.39 billion🦋 US dollar handle nationwide, a figure calculated by the AGA from historical gambling data and other trends.

🌟“No single event unites sports fans like the Super Bowl, and that excitement extends to sports betting, with this year’s record legal handle reflecting its widespread appeal,” AGA president and CEO Bill Miller said in a statement.

🔥Given how pervasive television and streaming penetration now are, sports betting has grown beyond a niche and academic interest for the global audience. The figures quoted above for Super Bowl instantiate that, as what used to be an American pastime is now readily finding broadcasters all over the world.

𝓀Most countries are still not decided on the idea of online betting, and whether to tap into its vast reserves or not. This includes India, which has the world's second-highest internet userbase. In actuality, though, betting has always been associated with sports in some form or the other.
