On day 3 of the first Test between South Africa and Sri Lanka, South Africa declared their second innings at 366/5, setting Sri Lanka a huge target of 515 runs. Tristan Stubbs ꦺ(122) and Temba Bavuma (113) both scored centuries, with their partnership being the highlight of the day.
﷽Sri Lanka’s reply didn’t go well as South Africa’s bowlers, especially Gerald Coetzee, bowled with pace and aggression. Dimuth Karunaratne and Kamindu Mendis both fell to wide deliveries, and nightwatchman Prabath Jayasuriya didn’t last long either, getting out to a superb catch at short-leg.
What Happened On Day 2
South Africa resumed their innings after a limited play on the opening day due to rain. Sri Lanka bowled out the hosts for 191 runs as Asitha Fernando and Lahiru Kumara shared three wickets each.
