Maha Kumbh 2025 Ends: The Temporary City Disperses, Its Impact Remains

𓃲As the Maha Kumbh 2025 concludes, the Sangam gradually empties, marking the end of one of the world’s largest religious gatherings. Over 45 days, millions of pilgrims immersed themselves in ritual baths, prayers, and spiritual discourse, turning the floodplains of the Ganges and Yamuna into a vast, temporary pilgrimage site. Now, as devotees leave, authorities dismantle temporary structures, sanitation workers clear mountains of waste, and the riverbanks return to their usual state. The festival is over, but its economic, environmental, and cultural footprint is yet to be seen.
