The Election Coဣmmission of India has announced that they will be using popular Indian comic characters like Chacha Chaudhary, Sabu, Raaka, Dhamaka Singh, Billoo and others to create awareness about elections among children. The ECI on their X handle shared glimpses of the comics that have messages for children to understand the importance of voting.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, the ECI wrot𒆙e, "Chacha Chaudhary, Sabu, Raaka,Dhamaka Singh, Billoo & other comic characters will now create awareness amongst children about elections. In an unique initiative, the comic book, "Chacha Chaudhary aur Chunavi Dangal", published by Pran Comics, was released by the Commission to♌day"
Further in another post, the ECI said, ""Chacha Chaudhary ka dimag computer se tez chalta hai", and his formidღable intellect will now be harnessed by SVEEP division of ECI".
The SVEEP stands for Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation💮 Program which is the flagship program of the Election Commission of India for voter edu🦄cation, spreading voter awareness and promoting voter literacy in India.
The ECI also mentioned that 30,000 copies wil✅l be distributed free and there will be ♊provision for lakhs of children to view them digitally as well. The comic has 10 short stories on electoral aspects, said ECI.
