ꦺDelhi's Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has dismissed Chief Minister Atishi's allegations regarding an order calling for the demolition of Hindu and Buddhist places of worship across the capital.
😼Refuting the AAP leader's allegations, Delhi LG has dismissed the claim as "cheap politics." As per a statement issued by the LG's Secretariat, no religious structures or any temples, mosques or churches were being demolished.
What Has Atishi Alleged?
✨AAP leader and chief minister Atishi has alleged that an order issued by LG Saxena called for the demolition of religious structures across the national capital.
🌸She further alleged that this meeting was called on November 22 with a "Religious Committee" under the LG.
🐓"It has been decided by the Religious Committee on your directions, and with your approval to demolish multiple religious structures across Delhi," Chief Minister Atishi said in a letter addressed to VK Saxena.
𓆏The Delhi CM further added that certain religious structures had been marked to be demolished in "West Patel Nagar, Dilshad Garden, Sunder Nagri, Seema Puri, Gokal Puri and Usmanpur."
LG Dismisses Allegations, Calls It 'Cheap Politics'
𓂃The Lieutenant Governor has refuted these claims and dismissed them as "cheap politics".
𝐆"If at all, the Lt Governor has issued strict instructions to the police to maintain extra vigil against forces who may indulge in deliberate vandalism for political benefits. His instructions are being strictly followed, as was witnessed during the just gone Christmas celebrations which did not see any untoward incident," read the statement issued by the Lt Governor's office.
🌜However, Atishi termed the LG's office rebuttal as "complete lie" and showed a copy of minute of the meeting of the Religious Committee.
🔜"The file of Committee's order was sent to the BJP-led Centre's representative LG. The LG has given approval to the decision," she claimed.
