NEET 2024 Result Row: SC Refuses To Pause MCC Counselling; Plea Seeking Seeking CBI Probe Set For July 8

The Supreme Court of India, on Friday, continued to hear the pleas regarding the irregularities in the NEET 2024 Result aඣnd Exam. After hearing the latest pleas, the top court has maintained its stance on refusing to stay or pause the NEET counselling process.

During its hearing on June 14, the apex court has listed the plea seeking a CBI probe into the NEET irregularities on July 8. Furthermore, the Supreme Court urged advocates to not make "emotional argumen🦂ts" by linking the series of student suicides in Kota to the NEET Exam.

The matter was heard b🅰y a vacation bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta. During Friday's hearing, the top court sought responses from the Centre and National 🙈Testing Agency regarding the irregularities during the exam.

While seeking a CBI probe into the irregularities in the NEET Exam, the top court urged petitioners to not make emotional arguments. During the hearing, one of the petit♕ione🎃rs stated that students in Kota coaching centres were committing suicide to which the court responded saying the suicides were not linked to the NEET UG Results.

The bench has issued notices regarding the CBI plea and has listed the matt🐓er for July 8 along with all other petitions regarding the NEET UG Result 2024 contro♔versy.

While listing t♕he matter for July 8, the court reiterated that it would not pause the counselling process, which is scheduled to begin on July 6.

NTA also withdrew three petitions which were related to the grant of grace marks to 1,563 st🐼udents. However, on Thursday, the NTA stated that it would be cancelling the result of the 1563 students who received grace marks in their NEET Results.

These students will be given an option to either appear for the re-exam o😼n June 23 or take their June 4 result as the final marks, however, their grace marks will be remove🦹d.

National Testing Agency conducted the NEET exam on May 5 for around 24 lakh students. The result was declared on June 4 and was followed by a major uproar and nation-wide protests after it was discovered 🌊that 67 students topped the exam.

NEET is conducted for admission into und𝔍ergraduate medical courses such as MBBS, BDS,🔥 AYUSH and other programmes across government and state colleges in India.
