2024 was special, magi💦cal, otherworldly, extraterrestrial and wha🗹tnot?
Sporting history was binocular-ed on a many occasions, and at least if things go as expected for some of the athletes, this may well be the first of many, manꦏy more periods of chasing greatness.
The last 12 months also saw athletes produce extraordinary performances with their backs aga🃏inst the wall, rev✃ersing the momentum, and handing a major psychological blow to their opponents.
They showcased grit, tenacity, fight and hung aroun♈d long enough for their opponents to start seeing ghosts where there were none.
All that and much more, after they went b💙eyond what was destined, there were hugs, tears, joy, celebrations, disappointment, anger, frustration, and more importantly, self-satisfaction and growth.
It sure has been an emotional ride and the world yet again c⛎elebrated stalwarts who kept pushing their limits and a few who kick started a new era of greatness.
Well, for some, it was changing of the guard, as there was a sense that the future had truly arrived. As the dust has almost settled on 2024, that sense has not fully gone away.
While for another few, it was coming of age.
It is human nature to be excited by new things. With several generational talents across the sporting globe, it does feel 2025 will live up to the hype as well as the billing𝐆.
