After defeating Argentina earlier in the week, Britain needed to secure one straight-set win out of three matches in Sydney to top the group. Katie Boulter delivered with an impressive 6-2, 💃6-1 victory oജver Olivia Gadecki.
Boulter was relieved to avoid facing her fiance, Alex De Minaur, in the mixed doubles after De Minaur won his match against Billy H🐓arris 6-2, 6🧸-1. Together with Gadecki, he secured a 6-3, 7-6 (3) win in the mixed doubles, but Australia did not advance.
Boulter’s next challenge includes competing against world number two Iga Swiatek, w🌟hile Harris will face Hubert Hurkacz. This marks a significant achievement for Great Britain, reaching the last eight for the first time.
Meanwhile, Swiatek also had a strong sh𓆉owing, winning two matches for Poland i🐓n their 2-1 victory over the Czech Republic.
Kazakhstan became the first team to reach the semi-finals after beating Germany, and the USA also advanced t🌞hanks to victories by Coco Gauff and Taylor Fritz agaꦡinst China.
