After clinching gold medal at the Paris Olympics earlier this year, Jamaican discus thrower Roje Stona is all set to move in to American Football. As per reports, Stona will be among 14 hopefuls who would be swapping discus with an American football through the International Player Pathway program.

Stona had triumphed at the Paris Gamesඣ where he bagged an Olympic record of 70m and also made his name with the track and field team at the University of Arkansas.

Here's all you need to know about the 26-year-old athlete from Jamaica -

𝐆Stona made his debut in 2019 at the North, Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) U23 Championships in Queretaro, Mexico wherein he would go onto bag a gold in the discus throw event.

❀Stona, who is also nicknamed as 'Tallerdandem', has graduated from University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, AK (USA) with a Masters degree in Operations Management in 2023 and a year before, he graduated with a Bacherlor's degree in Industrial Engineering from the Clemson University, SC (USA).

💝His interest in American football came up when he attended a rookie camp with the Green Bay Packers.

His achievements include:

2022 Commonwealth Games finalist (sixth).

𝔉2019 North, Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) U23 champion (silver medallist in 2021).

⛄Two-time National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) championships silver medallist (discus throw in 2023, shot put indoors in 2024).
