🗹The Paraguayan starred for the Five Stripes before joining Newcastle for £21million in January 2019 – then a club-record fee for the Magpies and the largest received by an MLS club.

ܫHe went on to make 186 Premier League appearances in six eventful years on Tyneside, scoring 23 goals in the competition and assisting eight.

ꦰOverall, he played 223 games for the Magpies, playing a prominent role in their successful bid for Champions League qualification in the 2022-23 season.

﷽However, he had been limited to just nine league appearances in 2024-25, and he has now penned a contract to run through 2027 in Georgia, with an option to extend that stay for a further year.

﷽Atlanta have reportedly paid a fee of around £8m ($9.9m) for Almiron, who has been hailed for his professionalism by Newcastle boss Eddie Howe.

ꩵ"On behalf of the club, I want to thank Miggy for everything he has given us during our time together," Howe told Newcastle's media channels on Thursday.

♉"He has been the ultimate professional, and he has been a big part of some of our most memorable moments in recent seasons.

༒"He is a great person and we'll miss him greatly, but this is the right move at the right time for him and his family and we wish them well."
