Glenn Phillips is all over social media once again for his out-of-the-world fielding performance. Yet again, the Kiwi flew high to grab a stunning catch to dismiss Ollie Pope during the first Test between New Zealand and England going on in Christchurch. (More Cricket News)
After bowling out New Zealand for 348, England were going strong. Harry Brook 🌠and Pope had put up a 151-run stand for the fourth wicket and England had cut the Kiwi lead to just 126 runs. New Zealand needed something special to come back into the match and Phillips did just that.
🦩Tim Southee bowled a short ball outside off with width on offer and Pope went hard for the cut. The ball flew off Pope's bat like a bullet but find Phillips at Gully. The New Zealand all-rounder leaped towards his right with his right arm full stretched out and grabbed a stunning catch on what was a certain boundary.
💝The crowd was thrilled and so were the commentators on air. New Zealand players celebrated and Pope could only walk back to the pavillion in disbelief.
However, even Phillips' stunning effort could not bring back New Zealand into the game as England looked set to get the lead. Pope's dismissal brought England captain Ben Stokes ♕who raised a century partnership with centurion Brook. At the time of writing the duo was still batting with England trailing by just 29 runs.
