💮So, it was raining hard in Brisbane a while ago but looks like the rain has now gone. We will not start on time though. 5:20 am IST was the scheduled start for the third day. We are having a slight delay.

Day 2 saw two tons from Australia's favourite sons, Travis Head and Steve Smith whereas Jasprit Bumrah 𓃲was again the tormentor in-chief, scalping five wickets. Australia ended day 2 at 405/7 after India had won the toss and put the Aussies into bat on the opening day.

A five minute delay and now we are ready for some action. Mitchell Starc and Alex Carey 🍨walk out for the Kangaroos and the Indian team strides out to the ground as well. Australia will look for quick runs while India want wickets. Jasprit Bumrah with the ball.

🐲India and Bumrah begin the third day with a maiden. Mitchell Starc gives Bumrah respect and perhaps it will be Alex Carey who will try to do the scoring. Meanwhile, Bumrah's figures in this innings: 26-8-72-5.

First boundary of the day and it is Alex Carey who sends the ball to the fence. Ravindra Jadeja is bowling the second over of the day and his last ball is on leg stump to which Carey delivers a hard sweep. With that boundary, Carey completes his half-century and it comes of just 53 balls.

✤Starc goes big. A six over midwicket off Jadeja and then a four off Bumrah in the very next over. The intent is showing. Australia want quick runs and both Carey and Starc will go for it.

Bumrah gets his sixth wicket!

﷽First wicket of the day as Bumrah gets Starc. It has been a one man show for India by Bumrah and now he gets his sixth scalp of the innings. Full delivery and Starc just pushes at it to get an edge which carries into the gloves of Rishabh Pant.

🏅Just a single each from the last three overs. India would be happy with that. Carey and the new man in Nathan Lyon are not quite taking the aggressive route.

ꦐIndia review for LBW. Nathan Lyon struck on pads off Ravindra Jadeja trying to play the sweep. India go out loud with their appeal. The umpire is not that impressed. India want to go upstairs. But on review, the impact is outside the line of stumps. Review lost by India.

Siraj dismisses Lyon! ♊ The ball is full and straight targeting the stumps. Nathan Lyon goes for a straight loft but misses the ball completely and the stumps are in disarray behind him. India now just a wicket away.

🍷Finally a wicket for Akash Deep. Carey mistimes his pull and the ball goes straight up in the air. Gill completes the catch and India bundle out Australia. A good innings from Alex Carey and Australia have a big score on the board.

♏We had some rain in Brisbane and that has delayed India's innings. It will begin in 10 minutes now that the rain has gone.

♈Here we go then. Mitchell Starc with the new ball. Yashasvi Jaiswal on strike. Australia posted 445 and now it is India's turn.

𓃲Jaiswal edged the first ball and he got a boundary through the slip cordon. The very second ball, he flicks it to the short midwicket where Mitch Marsh grabs a catch and Jaiswal's stay is just two-ball long. Australia are delighted. India lost their first wicket for just 4.

Shubman Gill out!

💙Another one gone. Mitchell Starc on fire. Just the first ball of his second over and he already has his second man. Brilliant catch from Mitch Marsh at gully. Gill saw a full ball and went for a drive but the ball does just enough to find the edge and Marsh takes a stunning catch. India in deep deep trouble.

Kohli out in the middle now with KL Rahul.

🐎Josh Hazlewood starts with two maidens. On one hand Starc is taking wickets and on the other Hazlewood is not giving an inch with his impeccable accuracy. India need to bat really really well to negotiate the new ball. Australia are looking very very good.

꧒First boundary for KL Rahul. Little overpitched from Hazlewood and Rahul times the cover drive to perfection and gets four runs for himself. Beautiful shot. Should give him a lot of confidence.

♏Annother four now. This time Rahul flashes his bat hard. Not from the middle but the ball fliees away to the third man fence for another four.

Virat Kohli is gone!!!

🦄This is massive and the Australians know it. Kohli yet again chasing a full and wide delivery outside the off stump and nicks it behind. Easy catch for Carey behinnd the stumps and first wicket of the day for Hazlewood. India in deep deep trouble.

꧅Rishabh Pant walks out to bat and brings rain with himself. Players are heading back to the dressing room. Australia are on top. In total command. And India are facing the consequences of poor shot selection.

ಞLunch taken! First session thus ends. Australia added 40 runs to their overnight total of 405 to get to 445 before they lost their remaining three wickets. India have lost Jaiswal, Gill and Kohli and it is not even eight overs. It is a daunting task ahead of India now. They would need a lot of help from the rain god.

🐼Well, the sun is out and so are the players. A tough first session of the day for India and they would like to make amends. A partnership is of utmost importance for the Indians and that too a big one. Hazlewood to continue his over. Rishabh Pant on strike to face his first ball.

🌳First ball of the second session and Pant straightaway gets a triple towards mid-on boundary. Rahul plays two dots and then takes a single off the final ball of the over.

ꦿPlayers are back in the dressing room as rain has interrupted again. It has been a stop start day and the forecast remains the same for the entire day. This time the rain is strong. So, we might have to wait a little longer. India would not complain though.

🍌Rain is back again and the covers too come back. This has been the story of the day. A short spell of rain followed by some play followed by another short spell of rain and so on. India would not complain as rain will help them play out time in the game. But the counter side is that it keeps Aussie bowlers fresh and disrupts the rhythm of batters.

𒉰Bright sunshine at the Gabba now. The black clouds have gone away and the players are now out on the ground as we resume the play yet again.

𓆏Boundary for KL Rahul on the first ball after the break. Pitched up by Cummins with some width on offer and Rahul just plays a beautiful cover drive to send the ball to the boundary. Good start for India.

Rishabh Pant is gone!

♏Pant is not having the best of times in Australia on this tour. Just the fifth ball after the break and he edges one back to the wicketkeeper. Cummins with a beautiful good length delivery, just outside the off stump and Pant hangs his bat for it.Just a little bit of away movement and the ball catches the edge and the edge is caught by Alex Carey. Pant goes back for 9.

♓Rohit Sharma on the crease now and he drives the first ball but gets no run.

🌠Just seven balls of play and the rain has returned. These short breaks are putting India at a real disadvantage here in Brisbane. KL Rahul just greeted Starc with a beautiful cover drive and moved to 30. The rain too started to come down and the players are back in the dressing room yet again.

꧒Tea has been taken but the rain shows no signs of relenting. We will have to keep waiting.

♎The ground is being dried and we will have some cricket really soon. It will be the third and final session of the day's play. India would like the rain to either stay away fully or just pour down consistently. The short breaks are not helping their batters.

♐The rain is back. Bad news for cricket fans but it seems like we are setting up for some more delay. The covers are back and the waiting game continues.

🃏Things not looking good as far as cricket is concerned. Rain refuses to go. Covers are still on the ground. Players still back in the dressing room. India definitely the tense team at the moment. They would hope the rain helps them. They are 48-4 currently, behind by almost 400 runs.

✅We could have a little bit of juice left in the day. The players are in their whites and that indicates their is some positiv development. Not much time left in the day though.

෴We are about to resume the game. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul come to the middle. 13 overs to be bowled and Mitchell Starc will begin for Australia.

👍Starc completes his over. He had five balls left and KL Rahul has managed to get a run from the over. The ball is still doing something and there was an appeal against Rohit Sharma as well for caught behind but not much enthusiasm in hat appeal.

Nathan Lyon has been introduced into the attack.

𒁏Big confusion between Rohit and Rahul on the fifth ball of the over. Ultimately it will be a single but if Cummins had thrown the ball on the right end, Rohit would have been on his way back. India get to 50 somehow but it willl be a long walk from here on.

ꦆRain gods are having a good time playing with the players. Just two overs and now rain is back and players head back. It is getting frustrating and this might be the final break of the day.

🃏So, the day's play is over. This break becomes the final break in what was a really really frustrating day for everyone involved. India finish at 51-4 and are still 394 runs behind.

𓂃Not a very good day for cricket fans and especially for the Indian cricket fans. Australia added 40 more runs to tke their total to 445 before they were bowled out. Bumrah finished with six wickets and Carey too completed his half-century. India then came out to bat and lost early wickets. Jaiswal, Gill and Kohli all were out caught off poor shots. Pant soon joined the trio in pavillion. At the end of the day, India are at 51/4 with KL Rahul going strong at 33. In between the play, we had tons of breaks due to rain and the forecast for tomorrow is not quite encouraging as well.
