The Indian contingent made a confident start to the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham, England with some solid opening day performances on Friday. Table tennis and badminton stars registered facile wins, while the women's hockey team beat Ghana 5-0 even as seasoned boxer Shiva Thapa produced a clinical show to beat his Pakistani rival.
