The Bengaluru police on Monday arrested a 34-year-old migrant construction labour-tu🅰rned-drug peddler, Ranga Rachappa, after he filed income-tax returns on his declared annual income of Rs 40 lakh.

The Times Of India  that Rachappa had m🔯ade it rich in the business that he began in 2013. He lived in a villa on Kanakapura Road where he ꦜpaid Rs 40,000 monthly rent and owned a lot of property in his village.

Rachaꦡppa, a matriculate, came under the police scanner a few months after he filed Income-Tax returns, declaring Rs 40 lakh as income for 2017-18. Since he did not declare his source of income in the application, the IT department called him for questioning and subsequently informed the Koramangala police to keep an eye on him.

He also managed to avail a Class I civil contractor licence to evade arrest,  Bangalore Mirror.

Monthly, the newspaper reported, Rachappa sold at least 30 kg o♍f ganja. He sold ganja of top quality at Rs 35,000 per kg.

The police se♚ized approximately 26 kg of cannabis and Rs 5 lakh cash from Ranga.

His associate, Srinivas, 47, a Ch𒊎andapura resident, was also arrested, while his supplier Sashu, is at large.
