Empowering Women: The Mahtari Vandan Yojana

To strengthen healthcare and economic self-reliance among women, the Mahtari Vandan Yojana has been a game-changer. The scheme provides a monthly financial assistance of Rs 1,000 to women, enabling them to meet their daily needs, invest in small businesses, or save for the future. Beneficiaries like Sarita Nirmalkar from Durg, who works as a domestic help, and Vimala from Raipur, who invests her stipend in a Systematic Investment Plan (SIP), illustrate꧃ the transformative impact of this initiative.

With Rs 1,000 crore disbu❀rsed under the programme, this initiative is fostering self-reliance among women at the grassroots level. Chief Minister Sai emphasises that strong familiᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚes build strong villages, and strong villages create a resilient state and nation.

Revitalising the Rural Economy: The Krishak Unnati Yojana

The Krishak Unnati Yojana has been pivotal in boosting the rural economy. This scheme, coupled with paddy bonuses, ensures economic stability for farmers b🃏y:

Procꦍuring 21 quintals of rice per acre at a fixed price of Rs 3,ꦓ100 per quintal.

Disbursing pending paddy bonuses from the past two years, infusi꧟ng much-needed funds into the rural economyꩲ.

These measures have rejuvenated agricultural activities and stimulated local markets, beneꦛf𒀰iting small and medium enterprises while creating job opportunities.

Support for Landless Families

The Deendayal Upadhyay Bhumihin Krishi Mazdoor Yojana extends annual financial assistance of Rs 10,🐠000 to landless families. With Rs 500 crore allocated to this scheme, the state ensures economic inclusion for the most vulnerable communities.

Increasing Women’s Economic Participation

Uඣnder the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, over 70 lakh women have benefited, with eight instalments disbursed since March through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). This initiative exemplifies efficient governance and highlights how increased women’s participation in economic activities strengthens production, distribution, and consumption chains.

To further promote self-reliance, the Didi E-Rickshaw Sahayata Yojana empow🔯ers women to purchase e-rickshaws with financial aid. This programme not only provides women w🐓ith a source of income but also contributes to a more environmentally friendly transport system in both rural and urban areas.

Banking the Unbanked: Economic Independence through Bank Sakhis

Economic independence hinges on accessible banking services. In rural Chhattisgarh, Bank Sakhis are bridging this gap. In Sarguja alone, 87 Bank Sakhis operate, enabling v🉐illagers to open accounts, deposit and withdraw funꦦds, and access benefits such as the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti and Suraksha Bima Yojanas. These kiosks are transforming rural banking accessibility and financial inclusion.

Empowering Farmers: A Boost for Rural Prosperity

The state has revolutionised support for farmers. In 2023-24, it purchased 145 lakh metric tonnes of rice from 24.75 lakh farmers, injecဣting Rs 31,914 crore directly into their accounts as a support price. This has revitalised the rural economy, bringing life to local fairs, 🍰markets, and small businesses.

Additionally, on Good Governance Day (25 December 2023), the state released Rs 3,716 crore in pending paddy dues, enabling farming families to meet immediate needs like education, selfဣ-employment, and household expenses.

Employment Through Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY)

PMAY has generated significant demand for construction materials and💙 created jobs in both rural and urban areas. On 17 September 2023, Rs 2,044 crore was transferred to the accounts of 5.11 lakh homeless families, fueling local economic activity and improving living standards.

Green Gold: A Treasure for Tribal Communities

The government has elevated the livelihoods of those dependent on tendu leaves, known as “green gold.” The collection rate per standard bag was increased from Rs 4,000 to Rs 5,500, be🌞nefiting 13.05 lakh collectors, who received Rs 855.80 crore in payments last season. Simplified registration and quality inspection p🔯rocesses have encouraged economic activities like horticulture and animal husbandry among these communities.

MNREGA: Record Job Creation

Chhattisgarh has set benchmarks in the implementation of MNREGA. By May 2024, the state had created over 5.82 crore man-days of work, surpassing records of previous years. In the last six𝄹 months, 10.93 crore man-days were generated, and 1.7♒3 lakh construction projects completed.
