As the winter session of the Parliament continues, a privilege notice has been filed against Union Home Minister Amit Shah due to the remarks issued by the BJP leader regarding ꦏDr BR Ambedkar. The notice was moved by Trinamool Congress MP Derek O'Brien in the Rajya Sabha.
The TMC leader moved the notice under Rule 187 and comes a🌠mid an all-out Opposition offensive against the Home Minister, accusing him of insu𓂃lting the Dalit icon in his speech in the Upper House yesterday.
"Abhi ek fashion ho gaya hai - Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar. Itna naam agar bhagwan ka lete to saat janmon tak swarg mil jata (It has become a fashion to say Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Am🎀bedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar'. Amid the constitution debate, the Congress and Nehru's tenu🎶re have been heavily criticised by the BJP.
Shah also mentioned that Ambedkar was unhappy with the Nehru government, which is why 🦄he resig🎉ned.
"Ambedkar ji has said several times that he was not satisfied with the treatment of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes," said Shah, adding tha𝄹t BR Ambedkar was also unhappy with the government's policy approach and its stand on Article 370. "He wanted to quit (the cabinet), he was given an assurance, and when the assurance was not fulfilled, he resigned," he said.
