At Least 18 Dead, Over Dozen Injured, In Stampede At New Delhi Railway Station

🌌At least 18 people were killed and more than a dozen injured in a stampede that broke out late Saturday night at the New Delhi Railway Station, reports said.

꧙The stampede was preceded by a swell in crowd of passengers waiting to board trains to Prayagraj -- where the Maha Kumbh is underway -- on platform numbers 14 and 15 of the station.

Acting Chief Minister Atishi told reporters that 15 people had been brought dead at the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital of central Delhi. All but two of the casualties were identified. Three of them were children. More are expected to be declared dead, reports said. READ FULL STORY

New Delhi Stampede: Wrong Announcement May Have Led To Stampede, Delhi Police To Scan CCTV For Details

Delhi Police on February 16 launched an investigation into the stampede💦 at New Delhi Railway Station that killed at least 18 people, saying it will analyse CCTV footage to determine what transpired before the chaos erupted, PTI reported.

"Our main target is to investigate the main cause which caused the stampede. We will collect all data of CCTV footage and announcements done during that time," a police source said. Teenager Killed, 4 Injured In Austria After Syrian Man Goes On Stabbing Rampage

🌼A 23-year-old Syrian asylum seeker stabbed several passersby in the centre of the Austrian town of Villach on Saturday, killing a 14-year-old boy and injuring four other people, police said, adding that the suspected attacker had been arrested, reports said.

♛Further details, such as whether the attacker knew any of the victims, remained unclear, a spokesperson for the police in the southern state of Carinthia, Rainer Dionisio, said. The injured were aged between 14 and 32, he added.
