ꦆAs ethnic clashes continue to intensify in the northeastern state of Manipur, an explosion and multiple incidents of firing were reported in different districts of the state on Wednesday night.
🔜According to police, a blast triggered by an improvised explosive device (IED) was reported in Bishnupur district.
💞The bomb was placed inside a SUV parked at a culvert in Kwakta area.
൲Three civilians were injured in the explosion. Doctors at the hospital said one of them was injured severely.
🙈Besides the explosion, firing was reported last evening in Kangpokpi district,
꧅The security forces intervened and brought the situation under control.
🦄However, intermittent firing persisted between 2-3 am during the night.
⛦On May 3, the ethnic clashes broke out in Manipur after a 'Tribal Solidarity March' was organised to protest against the Meitei community's demand for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status.
♔So far, nearly 120 people have lost their lives and over 3,000 are injured.
