Independent MLA from Kerala, PV Anvar, resigned as Nilambur legislative representative on Mond💜ay. The resignation comes just days after Anvar joined the All India Trinamool Congress and announced that he had assumed the role of state coordinator for the Mamata Banerjee-led party.

Anvar, w♏ho met Speaker A N Shamseer in his chamber at the Legislative Assembly complex, confirmed his resignation.

While speaking to the media after subm🍎itting his resignation, Anvar announꩲced that he would not contest the by-election from the Nilambur seat and offered his support to the Congress-led UDF in the constituency.

He said that his fight was against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and t🌸hat 🌼he would request Congress leaders to field a candidate from the Christian community in the constituency to instil confidence in them, as they are being forced to flee the hilly areas due to attacks by wild animals.

He urged the Congress leadershipཧ to field Malappuram DCC president V S Joy, who belongs to the Christian community, 🙈for the seat, asserting that he would win by a margin of 30,000 votes.

Anvar, who won fro🐼m Nilambur as a Left-supported independent candidate in the 2016 and 2021 Assembly elections, formed the Democratic Movement of Kerala (DMK) two months ago after the CPI(M) severed ties with him following his revolt against the ruling front on several issues.

Recently, he was arrested for allegedly vandalising a forest office during a protest over tಞhe death🅰 of a tribal man in an elephant attack in his constituency.
