J&K: 3 Soldiers Dead, 2 Injured As Army Truck Rolls Down Hill In Bandipora

According to the officials, the accident took place whe🃏n the driver of the Army truck lost control while trying to negotiate a sharp curve near thꦗe Sadar Koot Payen area in the district.

Three Army personnel died on Saturday while two others were injur🤪ed when their ve🎃hicle lost control and fell into a gorge in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora district.

Accord💝ing to the officials, the accident took place when the driver of the Army truck lost control while trying to negotiate a sharp curve near the Sadar Koot Payen area in the district. The vehicle, according to PTI, skidded off the road and fell into a gorge.

The officials added that two soldiers lost their li𓂃ves while three wer𒊎e rushed to the nearby district hospital in an injured state. Further details are awaited.

The hospital's medical superintendent Dr Masrat Iqbal told PTI that two sol♏diers were "brought dead" while "the thre𒆙e injured (soldiers) were resuscitated and then referred to Srinagar."

Army's🃏 Chinar Corps said in a post on X that while performing duty in Bandipora District, a vehicle of Indian Army skid and fell into the gorge due to inclement weather and poor visibility conditions.

"Injured soldiers were promptly evacuated for medical care with assistance from Kashmiri locals, for which we express gratitude towards the citizens in providingܫ immediate sꦦuccour," they said in a post on X.

"Tragically three bravehearts lost their lives in the unfortunate acᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚcident. Indian Army extends heartfelt condolences to the bereaved famil♔ies," the Army said.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj ꦍSinha condoled the loss of lives of Ind💜ian Army personnel.

🌟"Deeply grieved by the loss of lives of Indian Army personnel due to a tragic road accident in Banꦗdipora. The nation is deeply grateful for their service and commitment. My condolences to the bereaved families and prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured" the Lieutenant Governor said in a condolence message.

Similar recent incidents

In a similar incident, five soldiers died and five 🦂others were sustained injuries on December 24, 2024, after an Army vehicle veered off course and plunged iꦚnto a 350-foot-deep gorge in Poonch district. 

Before that, on November 4, 2024, another Army personnel died and one got injured after their vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Rajouri🥂 district.
