BJP To Launch TV Channel In Tamil Nadu, State Chief Annamalai To Oversee It: Report

The Tamil Nadu unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is launching a TV channel to be overseen by state uniꦺt chief K Annamalai, according to a report.

The Indian Express reported that the BJP channel in Tamil Nadu will be made on the same lines as Janam TV in Kerala. It added th♔at the Tamil Nadu channel will be extension of the Kerala channel.

The Express reported, "Top party sources said the project, which will be an extension of Janam TV, considered a party mouthpiece in Kerala, will be anno🎶unced Mon🍰day."

A BJP leader told BJP, "It will be based in Alwarpet in the city, and the initial cost i💟s estimated to be around Rs 15 crore, which will be mobilised using party and RSS resources in Tamil Nadu."

The leader also said the main reason for th💯is🧜 project is to provide comprehensive coverage of his state-wide padayatra beginning April 14.

Besides the Kerala TV channel, the ✃BJP's ideological parent runs magazines like Panchjanya and Organiser. 

The Express noted, "Despite facing numerous alleg𝓡ations, such as low pay and being a commercially unsustainable model, Janam TV in Kerala played a key role in the BJP and RSS’s propaganda efforts during the Sabarimala controversy."
