🌼Palestinian militant group Hamas has stated that it will hold off releasing hostages this week due to an alleged violation of the ceasefire from Israel's side. While Israel has dismissed these charges, US President Donald Trump has warned that the ceasefire will end if more hostages are not released.
ജ"As far as I'm concerned, if all of the hostages aren't returned by Saturday at 12 o'clock, I think it's an appropriate time. I would say, cancel it and all bets are off and let hell break out. I'd say they ought to be returned by 12 o'clock on Saturday," said Trump.
♔Furthermore, Trump's warning also extended to Egypt and Jordan. The US President threatened to withhold aid to these Middle eastern countries if they refuse to take Palestinian refugees who have been relocated from the Gaza strip.
🙈Israel and Hamas agreed to a ceasefire and implemented the first phase of the truce on January 19, 2025. Since then, at least five rounds of hostage swaps have been conducted. For the first phase of the ceasefire, Hamas is slated to release 33 hostages in exchange for thousands of Palestinian prisoners.
༺However, Trump's latest warning puts the ceasefire at risk. Trump's warning of letting "all hell will break out" also comes on the same day he said that Palestinians would not have the right to return to Gaza under his US takeover plan.
ﷺThis remark contradicts his administration, which has stated that Gazans would be temporarily relocated while the strip is rebuilt.
ꦿIsrael's war on Gaza began on October 7, 2023, after the Palestinian militant group Hamas launched a terror attack on southern Israel, killing 1200 people. During the attack, the Palestinian militant group also took around 250 hostages.
ꦉSince then, Israel launched a complete siege of the Gaza Strip and has relentlessly bombarded the Palestinian territory. Israel's bombardment of the strip has resulted in over 45,000 deaths, majority of which include women and children.
