Delhi 2025 Elections: Voter Turnout Hits Lowest Point In 15 Years

Voting for the Delhi assembly elections 2025 ended with record low numbers. As per the approximate numbers released by the Election Commission of India’s Turnout application, the total voter turnout till 6 PM was at 60.54 percent.

🔥Compared to at least the last four assembly elections, the numbers were at record low in the last 15 years.

Historical Data

ꦺAs per data from the ECI, the total voter turnout in 2020 Delhi assembly elections was 62.59 per cent. This was lower than the data recorded for the 2015 Delhi assembly elections when the number stood at 67.13 per cent.

𝔍While the 2013 Delhi assembly elections saw 65.60 per cent voter turnout, the 2008 Delhi assembly elections saw 57.60 per cent voter turnout.

Constituencies With Highest And Lowest Turnout

🌊In the Delhi assembly polls 2025, Mustafabad constituency saw the highest voter turnout at 66.68 percent. The lowest voter turnout was recorded at Karol Bagh constituency at 47.40 percent.

Kalkaji constituency, where Delhi CM Atishi was contesting, saw 51.81 percent voter turnout. New Delhi constituency, where AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal ♛is contesting, saw a voter turnout of 54.27 percent.

What Do Exit Polls Say?

Most of the exit polls for Delhi polls are predicting the return of BJP. The saffron party, if it wins, will come back to power after 27 years. BJP's Syed Shahnawaz Hussain said that BJP is expected to come to power in Delhi.

💙Only a few exit polls have predicted a clean sweep for the incumbent AAP government. WeePreside's Delhi election 2025 exit poll paved the way for another AAP government. The poll projected 46-52 seats for AAP, 18-23 seats for BJP and 0-1 for Congress. Journo Mirror's exit polls predict 45-48 seats for AAP, 18-20 for BJP and 0-1 seats for the grand old Congress. All the exit polls predicted that Congress is expected to win at most 3 seats.
