Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Chhaava that released on Friday, February 14, had a great start at the box office. The film amassed Rs 31 crore on Day 1. On Day 2, it earned Rs 37 crore and on its first Sunday, Chhaava witnessed further growth of 31.08% and earned Rs 48.5 crore, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. It has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in just three days. The total box office collection of Chhaava stands at Rs 116.5 crore.
It had an overall 62.48% Hindi occupancy on Sunday. Evening shows witnessed 72.95% occupancy, afternoon shows had 67.46% occupancy,
ꦺnight shows had an occupancy of 59.68% and morning shows had 49.82% occupancy.
Chhaava became the biggest Valentine's Day opening ever, and also Vicky Kaushal's biggest opener ever. It also became the biggest opener of 2025 by surpassing Akshay Kumar's Sky Force, which earned Rs 15.30 crore on its opening day.
The period drama also beat 2019's Gully Boy's🧜 opening of Rs19.40 crore which was the highest Indian film to earn on Valentine's Day.
Apart from Vicky Kaushal, Chhaava😼 also stars Akshay Khanna and Diana Penty in lead roles. It has been directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh under Maddock Films. AR Rahman has composed the film’s music and background score.
Chhaava𒆙 is based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Vicky played Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj while Rashmika played his wife, Yesubai Bhonsale.
