The 24-time grand slam champion was for꧙ced to retire while a set down to Alexander Zverev in last week's semi-final at Rod Laver Arena.
Djokovic, who initially sustained the hamstring issue during his quarter-final win over Carlos Alcaraz, will now sit ouജt Serbia's first-round qualifier against Denmark.
Davis Cup organisers confirmed the news on Tuesday, with the tꦰie ꦬscheduled to take place between 31 January and 2 February.
Serbia have Miomir Kecmanovic, Laslo Djere and Hamad Medjedovic ⭕as part of 💙their team to face Denmark at Copenhagen's Royal Arena.
Speaking in the aftermath of๊ his Australian Open withdrawal, Djokovic said: "It's🌄 not like I'm worrying approaching every grand slam now whether I'm going to get injured or not, but statistics are against me in a way in the last couple of years.
"So it is true [I am] getting injured quite a bit the last few years. I don't know what exactly is the reason for t𓂃hat. Maybe several different factors.
"But I'll keep going. You know, I'll keep striving to win more slams. And as l🀅ong as I feel that I want to put up with all of this, I'll be around."
