US Open Confirm New Direct Exemption Pathway For LIV Golfers

The top 10 players in the standings on April 7 will also be exempt from local qualifying for the tournament, which will be held at Oakmont Country Club fr💛om June 12 to 15

The US Open will be the first major tournament to provide a direct pathway for LIV Golf tour players to participate, after announcing a new exemption category based on rankings. (More Sports News)

Under the new ruling by the United States Golf Association (USGA), the top-ranked player from the LIV Golf tour – not already exempt – will go straight into the field f🌼or the season's third major.

The top 10 players in the standings on April 7 will also be exempt from local qualifying for the tournament, which will be he🐽ld at Oakmont Country Club from June 12 to 15, while going straight into the final 36-hole qualifying.

LIV golfer – andಞ reigning champion – Bryson DeChambeau is exempt, as are Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka and Cameron Smith based on past championships.
