Scott and PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan met with United States President Donald Trump last week amid continued discussions of unifying the US-based circuit,༺ DP World Tour and LIV competition.
Rory McIlroy has remained a staunch opponent of the🍃 breakaway organisation but admitted after Trump's visit that joining the competitions together may be the best move.
Scott expects that there would be some further 💯opposi💫tion, however, should a reunification of golf's leading organisations be successful.
"I woul𝕴dn't be🦩 surprised, or I wouldn't judge anyone, the members, if reunification happened and they weren't happy with how it happened," Scott said.
"I hope they're not spending as much time talking about it as I have. I wouldn't hold it against an𝓡ybody if t🅘here were negative emotions attached to it, the thought of players coming back."
Monahan had previously stated reunification ♒was a priority in the negotiations with the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia, LIV's leading financial backer.
"But it's not solely the tour's decision, ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚyou know what I mean? There's two people in this discussion, more to be honest; the DP World Tour, a lot of other stakeholders in the pro game," 2013 Masters champion Scott♛ added.
"The tour and its representatives talk a lot about i💯t. But we're not in control of the entire situation. There's another side to the st﷽ory.
"It's not been an easy t✨hing to solve, otherwise we'd hav♔e solved it, I believe."
Scott only joined the PGA Tour board at the start of 2024, becoming the chairman of the Player Advisory Council, before LIV discussions came to the forefront of his w🀅ork.
"I'll be honest, it took a c🍃ouple of months to wrap my head around stuff," Scott said. "Within the first few weeks of me coming ⛄on the board, we're voting for a minority shareholder to take equity in the tour.
"There aren't easy answers to any of this stuff. 🗹Everyone is entitle🐼d to feel something about what's happened.
"The one thing I do know is we're not going to please everyone, 𒊎but everyone should know that I will stand behind these pla🍎yer directors.
"They're trying to do the best thing for the entire membership. They've been faced with some tough decisions t🌳he last two years, tough calls, big consequences, for whatever we vote on."
