ESPN reported Sunday that Davis could miss up to a month with a left adductor strain the newly acquired star sustained in the Mav💜ericks' win over the Houston Rockets on Saturday.

Davis, acquired from the Los Angeles Lakers last week in the blockbuster trade 🌳that sent 2023-24 NBA MVP finalist Luka Doncic to Southern California, was injured in the third quarter of Dallas' 116-105 win. The 10-time All-Star was a force on both ends before departing, as he amassed 26 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists an🐭d three blocks in 31 minutes.

The 31-year-old Davis was also playing in his first game since Jan. 28, when he left a Lakers' loss to the Philadelphia 76ers in theಌ first quarter with an abdominal strain.

Davis has been previously beset by injuries at times during his standout 13-year ca🎶reer, as various lower-body issues limited him to just 76 games with the Lakers over the course 🌊of the 2020-21 and 2021–22 seasons.

The 201ﷺ2 No. 1 overall pick had been mostly healthy this season, however, as he took part inℱ 42 of the Lakers' first 45 games.

Davis was sꦫelected for his 10th career All-Star Game last month and is averaging 25.7 points, 12.0 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.2 blocks in 43 games this season.

Doncic is expected to make his ꧙Lakers debut Monday against the Utah Jazz, which will be his first game action since straining his left calf on Christmas Day.
