Myles Lewis-Skelly Has Three-match Ban Overturned After Arsenal Appeal
The 18-year-old had received a controversial red card in Arsenal's Premier League clash against Wolves on Saturday
The Gunners had appealed against the decision to dismiss the player earlier on🌄 Tuesday.
"An independent Regulatory Commission has upheld a claim of wrongfౠul dismissal in relation to Lewis-Skelly and removed his three-match suspension," the FA said in 𝓀a statement.
The 18-year-old had received a controversial red card in Arsenal's Premier League clash against 🌟Wolves on Saturday.
The defender caught Wolves' Matt Doherty above the ankle with a latꦑe challenge as the hosts looked to launch a quick break in the closing stages of the first half.
Riccardo Calafiori scored the only goal of the game to give Mikel Arteta's side a 1-0 win after Wolves were also reduced to 10 men following a second y𓆉ellow card to midfielder Joao Gomes.
"I am absolutely fuming. But I will leave it with you, it is that obvious that I do𝓡n't think my words are going to help," Arteta told Sky Sports after the game.
&q💞uot;It's so obvious that maybe we don't even need to [put in an appeal]," he added.
If the three-match suspension had stood, Lewis-Skelly would have missed Arsenal's Premier League meeting with Manchester City on Sunday, the Carabao Cup♕ semi-final second leg against Newcastle United and a league game against Leicester City on 15 February.
Lewis-Skelly has appeared in seven of Arsenal's last eighᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚt Premier League matches.
