Ahead of the session, Lovely was administered the oath by LG Vinai Kumar Saxena at the Raj Niwas. Now as one of the senior-most legislators in the house, Lovely will be administrering the oath to the newly elected MLAs.

  • 🍌This session also marks the first time the BJP will occupy the treasury benches in the Delhi assembly after their win in the assembly elections on February 8.

  • ꦗWith the new government, the Delhi assembly will witness a women-led session with Rekha Gupta as the Chief Minister and Atishi as the Leader of the Opposition. While Gupta is the fourth female chief minister of Delhi, this will be the first time a female leader has been elected to lead the opposition.

  • 🍸During the session, the BJP government stated it will be tabling the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports. As per Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, the AAP government had "misused people's hard-earned money."

  • 🐓"The most important thing is going to come. We said that we should put the CAG report on the House table in the first session. This is people's hard-earned money, which the previous government misused. They will have to account for each penny before the people," CM Gupta said at a press conference.

BJP marked its return in the national capital after 27 years. The winning party ousted the Aam Aadmi Party-led government after a 10-year term. Out of the 70 seats, the BJP won 48 seats, leaving the AAP with 22 seats.
