🙈Schwartzman, the former world number eight, could not keep his run going in his home tournament as he went down 6-2 6-2 on Thursday.

🅺The 32-year-old made his debut on Tour back in 2009, and went on to win four titles, reaching his career-high ranking of eight in 2020.

൩He reached one ATP Masters 1000 final, losing to Novak Djokovic in Rome five years ago. Schwartzman's last title came in Buenos Aires in 2021.

⛦Schwartzman bows out with a particular record, too.

✨Among the 120 players with 100+ ATP Masters 1000 matches since the format's introduction in 1990, Schwartzman (50.0%, 61-61) is the only player with an even 50% win rate.

ꦇHolger Rune, meanwhile, was the big-name exit from the Argentina Open, as he lost 6-1 7-6 (7-2) to Mariano Navone.

🅘While the world number 12 must lick his wounds, Navone will rally for a clash with Brazilian hope Joao Fonseca.

🗹The ATP Next Gen Finals champion came from behind to defeat Federico Coria 2-6 6-4 6-2.

🌱In the process, the 18-year-old became the youngest quarter-finalist at the Argentina Open since Richard Gasquet in 2004.

⛄Third seed Lorenzo Musetti saw off Corentin Moutet 6-2 6-3 in Thursday's other match.
