ꦗThe Saudi Arabian club officially announced on Monday that Neymar's contract had been cancelled by mutual consent.

♔Brazil international Neymar is now reportedly close to joining Santos, with whom he began his career before moving to Barcelona in 2013.

🔯While the 32-year-old is grateful to have played in another different country, he is disappointed not to have achieved more with Al-Hilal.

🅰"To everyone at Al-Hilal, to the fans, thank you," he posted on his personal X account.

ꦿ"I gave everything to play and I wish we enjoyed better times on the pitch together.

🥀"To Saudi, thank you for giving me and my family a new home and new experience. I now know the real Saudi and have friends for life.

ꦆ"I always felt your love and passion for the game. I will be following your journey ahead as a club and a country towards 2034.

ꦓ"Your future will be incredible, special things are happening. And I will always support you."

꧃Al-Hilal paid €90million to acquire Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain in 2023, but his appearances were restricted by injury problems.

꧒Neymar played just seven times for the Gulf outfit, including two appearances this season, after recovering from his latest lay-off.

ꦉHaving been left unregistered for the Saudi Pro League earlier this month, a number of clubs – Chicago Fire among them – were linked with the forward.

💛However, Santos are widely reported to be the favourites to sign Neymar, who remains the most expensive player of all time following his move to PSG seven-and-a-half years ago.
