Julian Nagelsmann has signed a contract extension to remain in charge of Germany through to Euro 2028. (More Sports News)
Former Bayern Munich coach Nagels🏅mann took over on a two-and-a-half-year deal in September 2023, following the dismissal of Hansi Flick.
He made a positive impact ahead of Euro 20𝓰24, which Germany hosted.
Nagelsmann's team, which included young stars Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz, reached the quarter-finals on home soil. They were k꧟nocked out by eventual champions Spain after a 2-1 extra-time defeat.
Their run to ꦓthe last eight was their best at a major tournament since Euro 2016, when they reached the semi-finals.
While he was initially only due to stay on until just a🤪fter the 2026 World Cup, Nagelsma✅nn will now be in charge of the national team for another two years after that.
"When ☂I came to the DFB in September 2023, I could not have imagined being a national coach beyond the home Euro," Nagelsmann said.
"This great feedback that we all receive every day, shows us that our journey together is on the right path. We want ♓to win titles together."
Germany ar𒈔e also one of the eight teams to have qualified for this year's Nations League finals.
