FC Goa 2-0 Chennaiyin FC Highlights, Indian Super League: Gaurs Cruise To Win, Close Gap On Leaders Mohun Bagan

Here's how the teams line up ahead of kick-off:

🤪Brison Fernandes' right-footed shot from the left side of the box misses to the right after a set-piece situation in the sixth minute.

ಞIker Guarrotxena Vallejo hands the hosts the lead in the 11th minute. His right-footed shot from the left side of the six-yard box surges into the top centre of the Chennaiyin goal. Minutes later, Goa's Aakash Sangwan is shown the yellow card for a bad foul.

𝄹Goa have another! This time, it is Aakash Sangwan who scores with his left foot. A probing through ball from Carl McHugh finds Sangwan with space on the left, and he tracks in before beating the Chennaiyin goalie on the angle. Goa well and truly on top now.

🗹Chennaiyin's Elsinho is booked for an infraction in the 39th minute, and the half comes to an end without any change to the scoreline. The Marina Machans are under pressure and could have well have been three or four down by now, had it not been for the Gaurs' profligacy in the final third. A crucial second half awaits. 

ജChennaiyin have made three substitutions at the start of the second half. Vincy Barretto replaces Kiyan Nassiri, Jiteshwor Singh comes in for Jitendra Singh and  Farukh Choudhary for Irfan Yadwad. Meanwhile, the hosts' Ayush Dev Chhetri is shown the yellow card for a foul in the 47th minute.

Sahil Tavora of FC Goa ꦍreplaces Rowllin Borges in the 65th minute. Soon after, Farukh Choudhary misses a good chance for Chennaiyin, as his left-footed shot from the centre of the box is too high. Farukh was assisted by Wilmar Jordan.

𝓀The second half ends without a goal, and FC Goa earn three full points based on their two first-half goals from Iker Guarrotxena Vallejo and Aakash Sangwan. With that, the Gaurs move to 33 points, four behind table-toppers Mohun Bagan Super Giant.
