🅘With the field unplayable, both teams share the points, leaving fans disappointed, especially as the match marked Sam Konstas's return for the Thunder.

𝄹The original match timing was set at 1:45 pm IST. However, the match was delayed throughout the day due to continuous rain.

❀Despite initial hopes of a shortened game or a late start, the weather proved relentless.

🥂With the field left unplayable, the game was eventually called off at 8:32 PM local / 3:02  PM IST time.

♓The David Warner-led Thunder are second in the BBL 2024-25 points table with four wins and two defeats in seven matches and one match ending in no result, while Nathan Ellis' Hurricanes are third with four wins and one defeat, one no result in their six outings.

🐷The two teams are scheduled to meet again two days later at Bellerive Oval, Hobart, on Friday.

♔Sydney Thunder lifted the BBL title in the fifth season (2015-16), in their maiden final appearance. They finished eighth in the eight-team league last season, an unwanted honour they achieved five times so far, the most for any team.

ꦫHobart Hurricanes, meanwhile, are yet to win the title. They were the losing finalists in the 2013-14 and 2017-18 seasons, and have never finished last.

The fourteenth season of the Big Bash League, one of the premier T20 cricket ♐leagues in the world, has seen one match abandoned due to rain.

Last week, the 21st match between Brisbane Heat and Sydney Sixers in Coffs Harbour🌱 was called off without the bat flip, BBL's own toss.
