The SA20 match 10 between Joburg Super Kings (JSK) and Pretoria Capitals (PC) at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on January 16 was abandoned after the first innings due to heavy rain. (Highlights | Cricket News)

🐓The match began with Joburg Super Kings winning the toss and opting to bowl first.

The Capitals, batting first, posted a modest total of 138 runs. Their innings began on a bad note as Rahmanullah Gurbaz fell to the first ball, and Will Jacks 𒉰was dismissed during the powerplay, putting the Capitals on the back foot early.

Kyle Verreynne briefly showed some promise with a few lovely strokes, but the introduction of spin turned the tide in favor of JSK. Moeen Ali 🦄and Imran Tahir were exceptional, taking two and one wicket, respectively, while the slow, turning pitch allowed JSK to bowl a total of 11 overs of spin, effectively stifling the Capitals’ progress through the middle overs.

🤪James Neesham provided some late resistance, scoring 30 runs off 21 balls, but timely wickets kept the Capitals’ total in check.

𝓰With JSK needing 139 to win, they would have backed themselves to chase down the target despite the challenging surface. However, the persistent rain had the final say, leading to the abandonment of the match.

🌠As a result, JSK remained unbeaten and moved to the top of the table, while the Capitals moved to third with two no results so far.
