What happened yesterday? Here is a recap

Bangladesh 🌃captain Najmul Hossa🎐in Shanto won the toss and opted to bowl first with both teams going into the game with three pacers each.

India stumbled early on losing Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli cheaply. Hasan Mahmud took all three wickets. Yashasvi Jaiswal continued his fine form to bring up a fifty and raise a good partnership with comeback man Rishabh Pant. However, Mahmud returned again to strike the fourth time to reduce India to 96-4. Soon, Jaiswal and KL Rahul to fell as India found themselves struggling at 144-6. Bangladesh were looking in control before tables turned with R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja putting India in command. By the end of the day, the duo had stitched an unbeaten 195-run partnership with Ashwin scoring his sixth Test hundred and Jadeja too looking set to for a three-figﷺure outing. Bangladesh looked clueless in the final sessi🅰on yesterday. They will badly need wickets now.

Jasprit Bumrah steps in as the new batter and quickly gets off the mark with a four off his fi♑rst ball, opening the face of the bat to guide a fuller delivery past the slip cordon.

Ravichandran Ashwin departs after his first aggressive shot of the day fails to connect properly. He attempted to go over mid-off but lacked the power, falling for a well-crafted 113 runs o𝓡ff 133 balls. As he walks off, he receives a standing ovation from the crowd, marking Taskin’s third wicket of the day.

Bangladesh took the last four Indian wickets in just over an hour. Seems like a job well done. This marks only the fourth insta💙nce of all ten Indian batters being caught out in a Test innings at home.

Has🌼an Mahmud made history as the first Bangladeshi bowler to claim a five-wicket hau🍌l in India during the first Test at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday. He finished with impressive figures of 5/83 as India was bowled out for 376.

Jasprit Bumrah opens India’s bowling, with Shadman Islam and Zakir at the crease. And OUT, Bumrah’s delivery nips back in and clips the bails, sending Shadmanℱ back for just 2 runs. A strong early breakthrough for India.

What a lovely drive. It's even more commendable considering what preceded it. The ball was full and just outside off, with little movement this tim🌜e. Shanto strides forward beautifully and drives it past Rohit at cover.

Siraj is back in action, probing the Bangladeshi batters🎐. Caught on the stump mic, Rohit Sharma says, “Height nahi hai, nikal jayega left mai” (There’s no height, it’ll go past the left side), as Siraj appeared to have caught Zakir LBW. No DRS was taken. Siraj looks disappointed and still feels DRS would have worked൩ in India's favour.

Similar to India, Bangladesh lost three wickets in their first 10 overs, but India had more runs at that stage. To make things worse for Bangladesh, the batting conditions now are much better than they were during the first hour of Day 1 ye🐷sterday. This session goes India's way.

Shanto edges the ball and it’s caught♕ at second slip. Facing Siraj, he tries to counter the movement, but the wobble-seam delivery nips away ▨just enough to catch the outside edge. The ball flies quickly to Virat Kohli at second slip, who makes no mistake. Siraj is bowling in great areas, providing no respite and no loose balls.

Another wicket for Bumrah, the Indian bowling attack 🔯is proving to be too much for the tigers. Bumrah continues targeting the good length, but Rahim adjusts to the angle this time, but this delivery surprises by swinging after it bounces. Though Rahim was expecting the angle, the late swing found the outside edge, and KL Rahul took a brilliant catch at second slip. It's just outstanding from India.

After a rapid start filled with boundaries, Shakib and Litton have now switched to a more defensive approach. Ashwin and Akash are🃏 bowling with precision, maintaining tight lines that leave the batters with little room to maneuver.

Jadeja with his third. Shakib sweeps and hits another FOUR. Good show by 🐼Bangladeshi batter. He again ღtries the same shot but misses this time.

Liton Das goes for a sweep shot but ends up catching the top edge. Dhruv Jurel, the substitute fielder stationed in the deep, takes the catch effortlessly. This marks Jadeja's first wicket of the match, and now Mehidy hಞas come to the crease as the new batter. And within minutes, he took another wicket and this time Shakib falls.

Siraj returns for his second spell, and he seems to be walking fine now 🍸-- a relief for India.

It was inevi⭕ജtable, wasn’t it? Bumrah proves too good for Hasan Mahmud. He fires in a length ball around the fourth or fifth stump, and Mahmud hangs his bat out, edging it straight to Kohli at second slip.

Jasprit Bumrah became the sixth Indian fast bowler to reach 400 international wickets during the first Test against Bangladesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadiumꦿ in Chennai on Friday. Bumrah hit this milestone after claiming three crucial wickets on the second dꦍay of play.

Four runs come off Siraj's over, and now Bumrah i🎐s back in the attack. He sends down a fierce bouncer that strikes Taskin right on the helmet. The batters manage to sneak a bye, and Taskin undergoes a concussion test.

Bumrah continues with short balls to Taskin, and India has now positioned a short leg. OUT! It was only a matter of time, and Bumrah lands a perfect yorker. Taskin is 🥂dismissed, marking Bumrah's fourth wicket of the match.

Siraj returns to the attack ൩and dismisses Nahid with his fi▨rst ball, clean bowling him. India now holds a 227-run lead.

India d💎elivered a comprehensive and relentless bowling display, skittling Bangladesh out for just 149 runs. Despite earning the right to enforce a follow-♏on, India chose not to do so. The action resumes as Rohit and Jaiswal walk in to open the second innings for India.

Rohit departs ch💫eaply once again, as Taskin induces an outsid꧒e edge that goes straight to third slip. Bangladesh secures an early wicket. Shubman Gill steps in at number three and gets off the mark with a single.

Mahmud bowle꧅d a full, straight delivery, and Kohli expertly used his wrists to guide the ball between mid-on and midwicket for a delightful four. What a shot.

Mehidy Hasan is brought into the attack. Kohli takes a single, fol🅺lowed by a few dot balls from Gill. Hꦆowever, Gill then takes a run to give Kohli the strike.

The scoring rate has slowed to a crawl, with the Indian batters managing just a single run per over. This over is no different, as Shakib 𒈔allows only one run.

As the day’s play comes to a close, th🅠e trend continues with just one run scored. It seems unlikely that any big runs will be added today. And just like tha𝐆t Kohli goes out after scoring a four.

What a magnificent strike. Pant dances down the track to meet the tossed-up delivery and sends it so🏅aring straight over the bowler's head. Stumps approaching? Who cares? Not 𝔍Pant that's for sure. Before this Kohli was beaten on the inside edge, and gets hit low on the front pad, in front of off. LBW - HE DOESN'T REVIEW.

India was all out for 376 by the end of the first session, after which the bowlers made life tough for the Bangladeshi batters. Jasprit Bumrah took four 🦋wickets, while Mohammed Sirꦡaj, Akash Deep, and Ravindra Jadeja each claimed two. Bangladesh collapsed for just 149 runs.

The hosts opted to bat again but lost Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli. Shubman Gill has looked solid as he remains at the cღrease with Rishabh Pant heading into Day 3. India currently lead Bangladesh by 3💝08 runs.
