The Ka🔯rnataka government has decided to establish a Special Investigation Team🦄 to investigate an alleged sex scandal involving Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna.

As per reports, Revanna left the country amid♏ the sex scandal row.

Revanna is the grands🍎on of J🎐D(S) leader and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda and nephew of party leader H D Kumaraswamy.

What did CM Siddaramaiah say?

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in a post on 'X' wrote, "The government has decided to form a special investigation ༒team in connection with Prajwal Revanna's obscene video case".

The chief minister stated that obscene video clips were🅷 being shared in Hassan district which depicted the app꧒arent sexual assault of women.

"In this backgro🐬und, the Chairperson of the Women's Commission (Dr Nagalakshmi Chowdhary) had written a letter to the government to conduct an SIT investigation. This decision has been t꧃aken in response to their request," Siddaramaiah said.

Revanna was the NDA candidate in the Hassan Lok Sabha constituency, which went to polls on April 26.

The JD(S) joined the NDA in September last year.

Congress Holds Protest Demanding Arrest

The women's wing of the Congress held a demonstration in Bengaluru on Sunda▨y, protesting against Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna over an alleged s🎃ex scandal, and urged for his immediate arrest.

They chanted slogans against tꦚhe 33-year-old, who is the grandson of JD(S)🥀 leader and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda.

The protestors burned his posters and demanded ♍thorough inquiry into the matter.

Demanding his immediate arrest, a Congress leader said: "He (Prajwal Revanna) should be given severe punishment and should be hanged f✃or what he has done with these women. It has brought down the honour of the entire state of Karnataka."

What Did JD(S) Leader H D Kumaraswamy Say?

H D Kumaraswamy, a leader of JD(S) said he would like to wait for the results of the invest꧋igation into an alleged sex scandal and emphasized that there is no consideration for forgiving anyone who has violated the law.

Kumaraswamy stated that he is not associated with Prajwal Revanna's reported departure from the country, and highlighted that it is the duty of the Special Investig💫ation Team (💞SIT) to get him back if necessary.

Kumaraswamy said, "I have noticed that the chief🍸 minister has ordered an SIT probe. Whether it is me or Deve Gowda (his father), we have always conducted ourselves respectfꦚully towards women and have responded positively when anyone came with any sufferings. We have tried to address them."

Speaking to reporters, he said, "The Hassan related issueඣ that started during elections, let the facts come out through a probe. Whoever it is, who has committe𒐪d the mistake as per the law of the land...there is no question of forgiving anyone who has committed the mistake. So let the facts come out from the probe, after that I will react."
